I'm deeply passionate about helping writers bring their stories to life with clarity, purpose, and heart. My journey into the world of editing and book coaching has been shaped by diverse experiences, from my childhood love of books to my work in technical writing, and most significantly, by my role as a mother. Every step has led me here, with a focus on empathy, collaboration, and deep respect for the unique story each writer has to tell.
My love for reading began early—I was that kid at the book fair, always with my nose in a new story. This early passion sparked a journey that took me from the world of modeling in my younger years to diving into the technical world of writing and editing. I worked with everything from aerospace to software, discovering how essential clear, concise communication is in all fields.
In 2020, I founded Mindful Editing, with a desire to merge my technical skills with my deep love of storytelling. Through training courses via the Editorial Freelancers Association, webinars by industry experts, and my current pursuit of book coaching certification through Author Accelerator, I help authors across many nonfiction genres refine their stories while honoring their unique voices.
Mindfulness is the foundation of my approach at Mindful Editing. I bring empathy and a genuine commitment to understanding your unique perspective and the story you're passionate about sharing. I aim to create a safe, judgment-free space for your work, providing thoughtful and intentional feedback with clear explanations. This collaborative approach nurtures your growth and helps us craft a narrative that authentically reflects the heart of your message.
As a mother to Sydney, I've learned firsthand the true meaning of resilience and the importance of unwavering advocacy. My experience navigating healthcare systems and homeschooling Sydney shaped my ability to listen intently, adapt, and support others through complex challenges. It has deepened my empathy and strengthened my commitment to understanding the diverse struggles we all face.
When I'm not immersed in manuscripts, I love exploring the natural beauty of the Monterey coast, getting lost in a good jigsaw puzzle, and spending quality time with family and friends (and, of course, my two adorable cats!). I'm also a lifelong learner, passionate about history, culture, and languages—and yes, I'm a huge Star Wars fan!
Your story matters, and I’d love to hear all about it. Whether you’re refining a manuscript or starting fresh, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s explore how we can bring your vision to life and craft something truly meaningful together.
